Yoga Classes

We have two weeks of yoga now. it feels great and we are actually feeling better and even getting the hang of it. I have not even hurt my toe since hour first day. My daughter is a natural at yoga and I keep telling her it is her thing.

In the meantime we just keep running our four days to burn the calories and try to keep the game fun. The weather is changing into dry season so it has been so nice this week.

We have been teaching the past two weeks and enjoying the heck out of it. I love being in the classroom and working with our awesome students. I am just constantly amazed that we keep getting the coolest people in the world to our massage school, wonderful.

Today was the celebration of my oldest granddaughters birth. I cannot believe that eight years ago I became a grandma! Whoa getting up there for sure. The bummer is the stupid p.o. did not get her gift there in time. I guess it will give her something to look forward to in the next couple of days.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY BEN

My grandson it just the cutest one year old in the whole world! I can actually say the cutest boy in the whole world since I only have one grandson! Here he is trying to get the camera from Grandma. he thinks he should get anything and everything he wants, and we usually oblige him. Just because he is so darn cute and sweet.
Here Mr. Guapo is making ojitos at me to try another method of getting the camera from me. If the fit does not work on Grandma maybe the ojitos will work. You gotta admit they are pretty cute.
We spent the afternoon shopping at the mall for babies birthday presents. I bought him tools, because he loves getting into his daddys' so much. I just looked at the box and it says not to let anyone under three play with it! I guess we will have to take some of the small parts away.
Tomorrow is also a bridal shower for a friend of ours. She is 19 and has been seeing her boyfriend for five years. He is 35. They met because he was her teacher in high school. Sounds strange, ok probably is strange, but here completely acceptable.
They will be getting married and then attending the temple. In Costa Rica you have to be married by a lawyer, so the marriages are done outside the temple and then you get sealed in the temple. She is just happy they both have good jobs and a house.
Here the sons live at home, as her fiance has, until they get married, whatever age that may be. It is important to them to have a house and car before they get married, and that can take a few years sometimes. They do seem very patient about that. We are just happy for them and look forward to celebrating with them!

SURPRISE VISIT

Looking at this guy who will be 29 in a few short months it is hard to believe he is my "baby". It was so good to see him and his family today, what a great surprise.
That is my grand daughters I know Grandma look!

Mr. Musculo, losing 25 lbs. is no small feat, especially when you are used to eating as much as this guy! He has always been able to put away more food than the rest of the family put together.

You gotta admit these are just the most adorable girlies in the world! At least in North America for sure. (Like the way I matched their plates with their shirts?)

DAY FROM DOUBLE TOOTHPICKS

My poor grand daughter is sick. Her daddy took her to the clinic today and she had to have not one but four shots! They wanted to give her penicillen, which I did not even know they still used, and they wanted to check her first to make sure she had no allergies to it. So they gave her two shots in one arm and had her wait thirty minutes. After that they gave her another dose in the other arm and waited another thirty minutes. At this point they decided it was safe and brought her in for the last shot of antiobiotics in her butt.
Now anyone with a four year old can imagine her horror and fear by this point. And of course my daughter is trying to comfort her and convince her that it is not going to hurt. Yeah right mom if it hurt in my arm it is really going to hurt in my butt. And she was right, and she screamed and fought like crazy.
So by the time she got to Grandmas house she was wiped out and just down right pissed off. The cure? Cookies of course. As you can see the cookies did not quite make it to her, but they did help her mom who was pretty wiped out and stressed out herself!

While Dad took the baby girl to the clinic we kept baby boy. Here is his auntie taking care of her. Not sure why the crown, makes her feel like the boss I suspect! Considering the fact that he weighs almost as much as her, it is funny to see her baby him so much. And he loves it by the way.
The fun part was taking him to massage class. He was watching Grandpa do massage and laughing. He thought is was great fun just to watch.
About the time the milk man showed up with our milk and I went to put it in the fridge, I realized our fridge was not working AGAIN! This is the third time in four months that our fridge has gone out on us. AUghghghghgh!
The next straw was my sons hearing that got forwarded for the sixth time! That of course is another story for another blog, but was sure disappointing for all involved.
The final straw? Having to send my hubby to a neighborhood meeting about how to keep the thieves from robbing us and our kids in our neighborhood! That just makes me angry. These bullies actually gang up on the innocent and steal their money, food, and even their clothes. They even roughed up a couple of teenage girls.
Hubby said the cops were there and just tried to blame the fact they were not on top of things on everyone and everything else. They even said that compared to San Jose we live in a very safe neighborhood. I don't really see how 10 armed robberies in 15 days could be considered safe by any definition of the word.
When the teenage girls who were robbed spoke up they said they called the police and they never showed up ! Like never! The cops said if no one shows up try the police station in Santo Domingo, the neighboring town! How do you like that?
As I said the day from double toothpicks! The good news? I am getting a rolfing treatment on my low back tomorrow and maybe it will help! That would erase all the bad news of today and make me very happy!

THE DREADED HAIR STYLE :)

I have always had very unmanigable hair. I take that back, from the time I went through puberty I have had unmanageable hair. when Rick and I were dating he tried to "style" my hair one time. He quickly learned that it was impossible.
Well low and behold I have finally found a hair style that works for me. DREADLOCKS!
I met a girl about two years ago with dreads and I really liked them. Then Micah kept talking about getting them and I told hiim he was crazy because you can't wash them.
Once I finally did the research and found that yes you could wash them, and basically all you did was quit combing your hair I was sold. I never really combed my hair anyway because it did not good.
My biggest fan is Breyssi, because now Grandma has hair like hers, Loca!

BROTHERS

This is just a shout out to my younger bro. I have not experienced divorce, but want to offer him my support and love at this time in his life. It is weird that I still turn into the protective big sister when something happens to my bros.

He is awesome and I know he is tough and will handle the next few months like a trooper. After seeing him in a bike race you would see what I mean about tough.

This guy is so cool. He put himself through med school 10 years ago and is just the best pediatrition in all of Texas. In the meantime he was also an awesome bike racer and now he has graduated into car racer.

Not to mention he is just a darn nice guy and is very generous. Thanks to him and his impecible taste in clothes all his younger and one older brother dress darn nice. When we all get together they all joke that they look like they walked out of his closet! He's also just a blast to hang out with and keeps us all crackin up with his stories.

Families are great and I am sure thankful for 7 brothers and 1 sister that support and hang in there with me through my trials. I know when I need it they are always there for me. One of my brothers is a pilot and last week gave up a buddy pass so my hubby could go to a conference he really wanted to go to in LA. But he did not stop there, he put him up at his house when he did not catch his flight not only going but coming back. It was so cool of him.

Last May my pilot bro donated another pass so that I could attend the graduation of another bro from med school. The above bro hooded him and it was so cool to be there with my bros. We were all there except one younger and my sister.
There are lots of hats to wear daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandma. I would have to say that sister is one of the best and I am very thankful to be one!

GRANDKIDS ROCK

Did I mention that being a grandma is definately the best trickle down blessing of being a parent? I can brag about my grandkids all day and not appear too biased, since I am not their mom after all. Though Maleah in the below picture is mine, so I won't brag about her in this post. Ahlysa the big girl is my oldest granddaughter. She is 6 and in kindergarten. Of course she is the smartest one in her class, and thanks to mom and dad she is also the tallest. The other girls Tara and Makensie are 3 and 2. They are so fun to hang out with that I wish I lived closer. The ones I get to hang out with all the time are the lower pic. Breyssi and Benjamin. Breyssi calls me weird, and Benjamin just laughs at me. We love our grandkids and have a blast with them.
