LYMPH DRAINAGE

I have found the perfect answer to the "swine flu". Get a lymph massage! As we have been studying the lymph massage for the past couple of weeks I keep thinking that it would be great for everyone to get one, if they are worried about their immune systems.

In conjunction with the massage portion we also studied salt glows, dry luffa scrubs, and yoga moves to stimulate the lymph system. We all had fun and learned a lot about this amazing system and how it works.

Good thing we can work on each other! Hannah had a cold and was demo one day.She got to draining really good, slept for awhile and then felt much better. Amazing this stuff really works!

R2D2

I call swine flu r2d2 because I can't remember the new name for it. But personally I think it is getting a little ridiculous. Now they are planning on closing schools for a longer period of time. I guess it is good we homeschool, but the whole baby dancing thing this week is blown for sure.

Now the teenager just had her church activity canceled for the swimming pool tomorrow. She is very disappointed. I guess they told her they are actually sending people home early from church now.

The worst part? They may start canceling soccer games :(, now that is a bummer.Maybe if we all agree not to breathe on each other they will let us go to the movies and watch games? Maybe if we show them none of us are pg. or have compromised immune systems they will let us to out?

Or maybe not and we will all have to suffer. After studying the lymph system the last couple of days and the immune system I can say that it is up to us to keep our own healthy. No one else can keep your immune system healthy, but there are many things that you can do to stay healthy. We have studies dry scrubs, salt glows tomorrow, as well as yoga moves all to pick up your immune system.

I would surely encourage one and all to work on strengthening your system and staying healthy, and being responsible for your health!

MORE ON SWINE FLU

I have one very disappointed daughter! Today the salud here in Costa Rica decided to extend the two week vacation another week. The reason? Trying to stop the spread of Swine Flu! Even though the sixth person just died, and no kids have died, nor have any healthy people.

She was scheduled to do her Costa Rica dance next week at the theme park. Like I said she is one very disappointed girl. Plus the fact that her teacher was on vacation the week before the two week vacation, that makes a month of one very bored girl.

I guess I could schedule a dentist appointment to break up things for her a little bit! Maybe just a picnic at the park. Her dad is teaching her to play chess, and that is adding a little excitement for her.

When the older kids were young and we were homeschooling Rick started a chess club for homeschoolers. One of our boys really took off and actually entered some contests. He was watching his little sister playing chess this morning and asked if we thought she would be good because she was Asian. I reminded him he is not Asian and he was a pretty darn good little chess player.

The problem is just getting her to stop giggling and pay attention to dad teaching her.

FLU

I never get sick, I mean never. I may get my monthly headache or some other ache or pain, but never sick. Well that came back to bite me in the backside this week for sure. I have been in bed all week! Now that is a drag. The good part is I only missed one run from the training schedule and should be able to be up and running by tomorrow morning.

The good news is it was the flu, but not the swine flu. Probably some other exotic flu or other, but thank goodness I did not start squealing. I really can't imagine that I could feel any worse though had it been a flu of another name?

I am grateful for a hubby who takes care of the house and kids and even gave me a shot in the butt! He liked that part though, the whole playing doctor thing. I did not mean that how it sounded, but it is all good. The important thing is I survived my flu episode and lived to tell about it. By the way the reason I never get sick is because I am such a wimp and God knows that!

HOMESICK

Easy to see why I could get homesick for Costa Rica. The desert has its own beauty, but it is not the one in my blood for sure. I am just aching for a little humidity. Not only that of course, I certainly miss my family I left behind.
Everytime I talk to baby she gets all whiny. I think it will be awhile before she lets me out of her site once I get home. I have never left her before and it has been difficult for her and I to be apart.
Then of course I get a call from the teen wanting me to come home now because she is not feeling good and is sure she has swine flu! That and of course all the drama that goes with being 15.
The hubby I have to tell "call me" and then maybe he sort of, kind of , a little bit misses me. Or maybe just at meal time when he has to think of another way to fix beans and rice. It was pretty funny because when we talked yesterday we had eaten the exact same dinners. Great minds think alike.
Of course I trained my kids early that Sundays are bean days. Most days are bean days these day, but for sure Sundays. Usually it was taco salad with beans, but sometimes bean tacos. I love, love, love, love bean tacos. They are in a complete food group all their own.
The problem was I had bean tacos with pintos. I used to love pintos, missed them terribly when we moved South, but now I would kill for a pot of black beans! About time to head South.

SWINE FLU AND GETTIN STUCK

So here I sit feeling a very strong feeling of deja vu. I was in a very similar situation this time last year. I had flown down to visit hubby in Osa Peninsula where he was teaching yoga and doing massage for a few weeks. While I was there a hurricane, the first in 30 years to be exact blew in and wreaked havoc. I ended up stuck there a couple of extra days because the flights were shut down.

Two years ago hubby and I were in Jamaica celebrating 28 years of wedded bliss. We were getting ready to board our flight home and the guy driving the stairs ran into our plane! Too much ganga for you buddy. So we got a complimentary night stay and left the next day.

Now there is the "Swine Flu". I really like Az. I really like visiting my family here. And I am totally enjoying the break. But man oh man I am very homesick and will be very disappointed if I do not get to go home when planned. Seems it is getting to be a habit with me of getting stranded places. The amazing thing is that I will fly anywhere at all.

I read a book today about a lady that traveled to China to accompany a friend who was adopting a baby. When the friend got the baby she decided she did not want her. So long story, actually it was a pretty short story, but story short she ended up with the little girl!

The thing was while I was reading it brought back all the memories of our adoption process and the places we went while in China and the things we saw and I missed my baby sooooo much. When she got to church yesterday she asked her big sis where mom was. For some reason she thought I was going to be home by then. Thank goodness we get to talk several times a day on the phone. I miss her and her big sis for sure!

In the meantime lets hope they do not start grounding flights and freaking out. I will be very sad.
